Greetings and Salutations!

          My name is Lauren DeParedes; it is a pleasure to meet you. I'm a college student studying Interdisciplinary Studies with majors in Health and Behavioral Social Sciences and a minor in Diversity Studies and Leadership. My primary focus in my studies is the deaf community and American sign language. In high school, I took an ASL class, and it has stuck with me ever since, fueling my desire to learn more about the people and the language. Besides my studies, I tend to my family's home and pets and assist my grandmother with everyday tasks.

          My purpose in life right now is to keep moving forward and finding the next right thing to do for myself and those around me. Currently, graduating with my degree is one of my primary goals, as well as applying for a career and purchasing my first car and house. I know these may seem intense and straightforward, but I'll slowly but surely be able to achieve two of these goals by the end of next March. If you can't tell, Im confident and optimistic in my choices. This stems from my involvement in a youth organization at a young age and my upbringing in the Catholic faith.
