About me and my Course of Study
I plan to integrate my coursework leading up to the Capstone by varying the types of studies I pursue every term. Adding one of each in every term and dividing everything equally to assist my studies, keeping everything new and interesting. What ties everything together is my desire to learn about American Sign Language in healthcare, the study of the deaf community, and how they are affected within social and diverse studies. My motivation behind my scheduling is to have an easy-going schooling experience while advancing my life by getting a job and buying my first home.
I Chose to study this because of my love and appreciation for American Sign Language and the deaf community. It was one of my favorite classes in high school and has stuck with me since then. I don't have a huge job in mind, if anything, a sign language interpreter would suffice for me. Studying the deaf community and the language is a passion of mine, so I plan on using my skills to make hard-of-hearing people feel as comfortable as possible in society.
