Hello, my name is Lauren DeParedes. I am a student at the University of Central Florida. I plan to study and pursue a career in the field of American Sign Language. I am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies as an online student and am also unemployed. The reason is that I've been taking care of my grandmother and helping my mother with household duties. I plan to apply for a part-time job next year to gain experience and earn a stable income. In the future, I aim to secure a well-paying job in my field of study. I believe that with this IDS degree, I will be able to communicate effectively with individuals who are hard of hearing or deaf and potentially enhance my studies to become a family nurse practitioner (FNP).
